True Colours

Made over one autumn, True Colours began with leaves collected from the ground in my garden.

The leaves were photographed and printed, and the prints were pinned directly to open frames.

As the green recedes, other colours emerge — not added, but revealed. The work reflects on beauty, fragility, and the transience of life, and treats the photograph itself as a delicate, provisional object.

These felt, at the time, like the leaf’s true colours.
I still think that might be the case.
