Gum printing is a hand-made printing technique that traces back to the beginning of photography. In basic terms, these prints allow the artist to use watercolor pigment to produce photographic prints. Each multi-layered work is labor-intensive to create.

I was honoured to be selected for The Art of Gum Bichromate, an international group exhibition at Duncan Miller Gallery in Los Angeles. The show brought together 25 contemporary artists working with this rare and expressive 19th-century photographic process.
I was the only UK-based artist included in the show.
Gum bichromate printing has become central to my practice in recent years, offering a unique space between photography, painting, and printmaking. This exhibition celebrated the process in all its material richness—each artist pushing the boundaries of image-making through hand-coated papers, layered pigments, and alternative approaches.
My contribution formed part of A Moment’s Existence—an ongoing body of work exploring memory, identity, and the shifting nature of presence.
